Lane Cove River Crime Walk with Mark Tedeschi AM KC

Join Mark Tedeschi AM KC, barrister, author, photographer and former prosecutor, for a leisurely bushwalk in the Lane Cove National Park to hear about two fascinating historical true crimes that will transfix and horrify you in equal measure.

Mark, who conducted some of the most significant trials in NSW during 35 years as a Crown Prosecutor, will take you on a 2.5-kilometre walk along a section of the Lane Cove River where two remarkable crimes were committed in 1917 and 1963. He will describe the background, evidence and eventual resolution to these cases, which have captivated Sydneysiders for decades.

Practical information:

  • This program is restricted to participants aged 16 years and over, as it discusses adult content that is not suitable for children and that some people may find distressing.
  • Participants should have the ability to walk 2.5 kilometres. A minibus will return participants to the program starting point. We regret that this program is not wheelchair accessible.

About Mark Tedeschi AM KC

Mark Tedeschi AM KC prosecuted many of the most significant and high-profile trials in NSW for 35 years and was the Senior Crown Prosecutor for NSW until 2018.

Mark has published widely across a range of subjects spanning law, genealogy and history. He is the author of four true crime books published by Simon & Schuster Australia, including Eugenia: A true story of adversity, tragedy, crime and courage (2012).

Mark is also a keen photographer who has held 15 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 20 joint exhibitions. His photographs are represented in numerous private and public collections, including those of Museums of History NSW, Art Gallery of New South Wales, State Library of New South Wales and National Library of Australia.

Mark was appointed a member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2013.
