Memory Lane: Walking Tour of Redfern
Dennis Golding’s artistic practice explores history and identity through the sharing of his experience of growing up on Gadigal land in Redfern. This inner-city suburb plays an important role in the story of Aboriginal rights and First Nations people’s connections to identity and place.
Join Redfern Elder Aunty Donna Ingram and Golding for a walking tour that will explore the social and political history of Redfern, a place that has been at the epicentre of First Nations activism.
The program will start at the Museum of Sydney with a viewing of Golding’s multifaceted artwork Cast in cast out before a bus will take you to Redfern for the walking tour.
Presented as part of the Sydney Open Series.
