How to use the Caroline Simpson Collection

You will find items from the Caroline Simpson Collection in both our library catalogue and objects catalogue

Where to find the collection

Most of the Caroline Simpson Collection is kept in a dedicated library at The Mint in central Sydney.

Request items before you visit

To visit the library, we recommend that you book a time so you can be sure we have space and staff available to assist you. To view specific items, you need to request those items at least three days before your visit.

Research inquiries

Visitors with research enquiries are encouraged to book in for one of the two 3-hour daily sessions offered, either 10am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm. Please email us at library@mhnsw.au or phone +61 2 8239 2233 to arrange your appointment.

Searching the collection

You can view items that have been digitised using our online collection search. As yet, not everything in the Caroline Simpson Collection is fully digitised, but we are making steady progress.

You can access more item records using our library and objects catalogues – there are items from our Caroline Simpson Collection in both these catalogues:

Many digitised items can also be viewed through Internet Archive.
