Film & photography
We offer endless opportunities for filming and photography with a variety of metropolitan and rural properties across Greater Sydney. We provide a supportive, film-friendly environment for television, commercials, documentaries, film and photographic shoots.
Our heritage properties are architecturally significant and range from magnificent colonial buildings and sandstone mansions to iconic modern architecture and gritty prison cells. The interiors and exteriors have been beautifully preserved or restored to highlight the original features. Outdoor settings include picturesque and manicured gardens, a grand carriage loop and undulating paddocks dotted with vintage farm machinery.
Sydney East
Vaucluse House
The gardens and grounds at Vaucluse House are part of a grand romantic vision of landscape, preserved in Sydney’s best-surviving 1800s estate. The property is laid out to complement the Gothic Revival sandstone house, with one of the main characteristics being its careful division into functional and ornamental areas, such as the kitchen garden, paddocks, carriageway and stables.
Elizabeth Bay House
With commanding views over Sydney Harbour, Elizabeth Bay House gleams like a Greek temple. Once surrounded by famous landscaped gardens, it is one of the most splendid private houses ever built in Australia. Its sweeping staircase with elliptical domed saloon, and elegant rooms with fine proportions and lavish furnishings reveal the tastes and aspirations of its original owner, Alexander Macleay.
Sydney West
Elizabeth Farm
Elizabeth Farm has witnessed major events in the growth of the colony, including the birth of the Australian wool industry. The original cottage, built in 1793, was transformed into a fine colonial bungalow, and today it is set within a re-created 1830s garden. This site is an ‘access all areas’ museum. There are no locked doors or delicate furnishings – Australia’s oldest homestead is our most immersive ‘living’ museum.
Rouse Hill Estate
Looking over the paddocks and across to the mountains, this historic house and farm have been owned by six generations of one family. Today, Rouse Hill Estate features grand stables, orchards, rustic outbuildings and an elegant summerhouse.
Sydney CBD
The Mint
Constructed in the 1810s as the south wing of the General ‘Rum’ Hospital, The Mint is the oldest surviving public building in Sydney's CBD. With the gold rushes of the 1850s, it was converted into the first overseas branch of London’s Royal Mint, minting 1200 tonnes of colonial gold. Between 1926 and 1997 almost 20 different government departments came and went from The Mint buildings. Today, this architecturally award-winning site integrates new and heritage buildings, historic structures and archaeological elements.
Justice & Police Museum
Step into the dark side of Sydney’s past with a visit to the Water Police station and courts that once made up one of the city’s busiest legal hubs. With its 1890s holding cells, offices, charge room and courts, the museum draws you into a world of crime with a vast archive of crime scene photography and mug shots revealing more than a century of underworld Sydney.
Hyde Park Barracks
A UNESCO World Heritage–listed site in the heart of historic Sydney, the Hyde Park Barracks is an extraordinary living record of early colonial Australia. Originally built to house convicts, the Barracks has also served as an immigration depot, asylum, law courts and government offices. Today it is a cutting-edge museum.
