Volumes [7/3801-3805], alphabetical listing of surnames commencing C-D; H-O; S-U only

These registers show persons admitted to government asylums in the last two decades of the nineteenth century. They show name and age of patient; some details of their history, such as place of birth, date of arrival in colonies, and occupation; the institution to which they were admitted (generally abbreviation only) and by whom they were admitted; dates of admission and discharge; how discharged; general conduct in the institution; names and addresses of relatives in Australia, if any; and remarks.

Volumes [7/3801-05] are alphabetically arranged and relate to surnames commencing C-D; H-O; S-U only while Volumes [7/3811-3812] are arranged chronologically.

Please note that the format in the last two volumes [7/3811-1382] changed. The information in these volumes is in a rough note format and in some instances nowhere near as detailed as in the other five volumes [7/3801-05]. See examples below.
