Rouse Hill Estate – what’s been going on?
Published on Tuesday 11 March 2025
The conservation works are up and running at Rouse Hill Estate!
The scaffolds are up, allowing the team to look closely at windows and roofs. The arcade and main house verandah roof sheets have been carefully repaired in situ and coated with oil, and broken slates and lead flashings replaced on the main house. Desalination (removal of salts) has been completed in areas of rising damp, and joinery on the main house and stables has been removed and repaired.
We’re looking forward to completing the replacement of all deteriorated gutters, downpipes and stormwater lines as well as returning all the repaired joinery and giving it all a well-deserved coat of linseed oil paint, preserving it from the elements for years to come.
