By public transport

We are located in the town of Nowra, about 160km south of Sydney. Please enter from Worrigee Street, opposite the showground.

Train

The closest train station is Bomaderry. From Sydney’s Central station, the trip takes about 3 hours and requires a change at Kiama. This service is limited on weekends.

Bus

From Bomaderry, Meroogal is about 4km. You can get a bus from the station to Stewart Place shopping area, and from there Meroogal is a gentle uphill walk of about 1km. On weekends, the bus service is quite irregular, so a 10-minute taxi ride is a fast and convenient alternative.

By road

From the Princes Highway turn into Worrigee Street and drive up the hill; the house is at the corner of West Street.

Parking

There is plenty of street parking.

Cycling

From Bomaderry train station, Meroogal is a pleasant and mostly flat ride. We don’t have bike racks but there is plenty of secure bike parking.

The museum is accessible by guided tour only. Tours start at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Please check tour times and availability before arrival.

Tours run for an hour and are limited to a maximum of 15 people per tour. We ask that you arrive 5-10 mins prior to your booked time as late arrivals may not be allowed entry until the following session.

For visitors with limited mobility

There is level access from the street into the garden and ramp access to the ground floor of the house.
