Make your own lei using recycled materials

Leis are traditionally made from flowers, shells and feathers and used by Pacific cultures as a way of expressing love, gratitude and honour.

In this hands-on workshop, kids will learn how to make their very own lei using recycled materials to highlight the climate emergency facing Pacific countries and teach them the importance of caring for Country.

Led by emerging artist Morgan Hogg, who is of Cook Island and English heritage, participants will focus on the re-use of materials including plastic bags, bottle tops, plastic bottles and an assortment of other materials to create a beautiful lei that holds a special message.

• All materials will be provided.
• Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Recommended for ages 8+
